So I’m gonna have to be pretty brief for this post text-wise. I just got home (it’s 11:00pm), it’ll probably take an hour to get everything together for the blog, and I have church super early tomorrow. But I have a lot of great pictures, so that makes up for it! J
Today I went to the Opera and it is STUNNING! While we were waiting to meet up with people, TWO people came up to me and asked directions! I had no idea where one lady needed to go, but I was flattered nevertheless. We were originally going to do a tour, but the English one was sold out, so we did an independent tour. I actually kind of liked being able to wander around by myself...and I couldn’t help singing the songs from the movie/play while I did! Can you blame me?
Masquerade? Paper faces on parade?
After the Opera house, our little group decided to go to the museum of France’s history whose name escapes me. It was really neat but I’m just museum-ed out! There was a nun at the museum too and all of the sudden the song, “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria” started playing in my head. J

Since I didn’t eat lunch before coming into the city, I was STARVING by 5:00pm. We went to the Latin Quarter (seriously....BEST food selection) for some dinner and I had the most AMAZING crepe ever! Granted, it was sugar and lemon (my blood sugar was low, okay?), but it was the best crepe I’ve tasted thus far in Paris. I’m totally going back to try a different kind! They had an egg and bacon dinner crepe that looked fabulous and I’m craving breakfast food!
After dinner, we made our way to the Grand Arch to do one of our Paris walks. It was in the more business/massive skyscraper part of Paris, so it was interesting to see the more modern areas. I’ll post a video of stuff we did there at the end!
Some people were tired after the walk (and I might have gotten some people sick and they weren’t feeling well...) so we split off and some people went home. Mckenna, Amy, her friend Kole, and I went to the Champs-Elysees to window shop and then to the Arch de Triumph to watch the sun set over Paris/the Eiffel Tower light up. So beautiful! It was my first time being out at night in Paris and it was magical!
Champs-Elysees
It was a busy day, but a good one! I even got a nice conversation with a random Arab guy in the metro tonight and talked to him for 10ish minutes all in French. He said I spoke really well, so I guess that means I'm learning something while I'm here! Oh, and he also said he's going to visit me in America. Preferably in New York because it's so close to St. Louis. The dude needed a map. It was funny! Well, I’m dead tired though so off to bed for church tomorrow! Goodnight! J
