So I'm going to have to make this a short because World Series game #1 is on and I have to watch my St. Louis Cardinals dominate the Texas Rangers. GO CARDS!!!! World Series Championship #11, here we come!!!! (pardon my lack of humility...)

Proud to be from the STL!!!!
Well the past couple of weeks have been INSANE. Why? One word.
Midterms.
The worst part about midterms (for me at least), is that all of my professors decided to put all of my exams in the same week. I'm pretty sure 5 tests in one week should be illegal. I barely had time to breathe! Well...FHE gave me a nice break on Monday night. I was able to take out my frustration with school on a pumpkin for pumpkin carving night!
Aubrey, Me, Erin, and Erika with our pumpkin masterpieces
Another reason that I had to take all of my tests last week was so that I could do some really neat activities on Saturday. Our stake had the opportunity to do a service project at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. It was SO AMAZING! When we got there, a guy assigned us to a spot (of stunning flowers, I might add), and told us to tear everything out. I felt so bad tearing out all of the gorgeous plants! But we had fun and had a great morning serving in SLC.
See all of the gorgeous plants behind us? Yeah...an hour later they were all gone.

After the service project, we also got to walk around Temple Square and enjoy the fall weather. How beautiful is the Salt Lake City Temple?? I'd say the 40 years of construction paid off!
After service all morning, we were starving! Me + being in SLC + hunger = a trip to Bruges Waffles for authentic Belgian (Liege) waffles and frites. If you're ever in Salt Lake, you HAVE to make the trip (here's the site with the address if you ever get the chance to go: Pure Heaven/Memories of my Childhood)
Crème fraîche and strawberry Liege waffle. YUM!!!!

Frites with delish mayonnaise sauce (I like andalouse, samurai, or plain mayo)
After indulging in Belgian fabulousness, the roomies and I headed to our Relief Society activity at the bishop's house in Alpine. He was kind enough to let us use the apples from his orchard to make homemade applesauce, apple jelly, dried apples, and apple pie! Now I want apple trees and a peeler of my own to make apple everything at my house someday. Everything tasted AMAZING!!!!
Other than that, I tried to rest my brain after a week of academic suicide. I did well on all of my tests though, so my hard work paid off! Now it's time to work on my Athletic Training application so that I can get into the program for next semester. I hope I make it!!!! It would be a dream come true!
Until next time :)
