The New Abode

I'm officially a slacker. No entries since June? Well, I could say that I was super busy being a dental assistant, or too caught up writing letters to my missionary friends, or too busy playing at the beach in Lake Tahoe, but in all honesty I forgot I even had
a blog. Great excuse, right?

Anyways, since June I've done a lot! As I said earlier, I was promoted to a Dental Assistant for the summer. I learned all of my Papa's various procedures and how to efficiently run a dental office. I worked on different skills like cooking, scrapbooking, sewing (and obviously not blogging). I wrote countless letters to Matthew, McKay, Nathan, Trevor, and Dan on their missions. I went to Tahoe and San Francisco with my family. I started training for a half marathon. I bought a new car. I drove said new car across the country with my momma from St. Louis to Provo. And now I'm starting my sophomore year of college at BYU. Did you get that? SOPHOMORE IN COLLEGE! I can't believe it either. I'm growing up WAY too fast.

Last year, I lived in the dorms on campus. This year, I live in an apartment off campus. It was an adventure trying to look and sign up for housing last February. A group of girls that didn't really know each other got together one Saturday and walked to different complexes. We found a place to live, decided to live together, woke up at the crack of dawn a few weeks later and turned in our applications. Little did we know, we would get to be the best of friends before Freshman year was over.

It was amazing being able to see everyone again! Rinna, Erika, Erin, Aubrey and I were counting down the days until we got back to school and could see each other. After the reunion, it was time to get cracking on putting our apartment! It took some planning and some shopping at IKEA, but we're pretty happy with the results!

Now, without further adieu, our new abode:

The Front Door

View from our bedroom door - Erin's bed and our closets

My bed!

My picture wall - a work in progress

Our desks and more pictures

The bathroom sinks - we have two showers and two toilets too, but I didn't feel like photographing those

Reminder board posted in the bathroom/hallway

Kitchen table, pantry and awesome magnet boards

The kitchen

Our fridge

Ah yes, Alison's calendar. She's hung this in the kitchen so people could see it when they walked in. It's quite the conversation starter!
